AEGEE-Praha SU 2026: Czechdom Come – Discover Medieval Bohemia
Medieval mysteries, legendary breweries and majestic castles: AEGEE-Praha is organising the Summer University “Czechdom Come” from 11 to 24 July 2026. 24 brave adventurers will explore the heart of Bohemia and its mesmerizing culture. The fee is 220 Euro, with an optional 50 Euro package unlocking special experiences such as the world-famous Pilsner Urquell Brewery. Margarita Lukašiková, President and Fundraiser of AEGEE-Praha told us what you can expect.
GT: What is the main idea behind your SU?
Margarita: We will take our participants to the landmarks where the story of the famous game takes place, which is at the centre of our SU, showing them how mesmerizing every part of the Czech Republic is and how much it has to offer.
GT: You mentioned “the game.” The whole SU description sounds like a role-playing game. Tell us more!
Margarita: We are indeed turning this SU into an immersive game! All participants will be divided into six groups, working together to solve clues and find the “Czech Grail.” There will be hints and a final secret at the end. They will be split into small teams, but if they cooperate, they might just be more successful in solving the mystery.
GT: What is included in the participation fee of 220 Euros?
Margarita: Two meals per day, accommodation, local transportation, travel to other destinations, workshops, the social programme, and a visit to Trosky Castle. The optional fee of 50 Euros unlocks the experience of the impressive Ossuary in Kutná Hora and a trip to the famous Pilsner Brewery—an annual highlight that is always one of the most enjoyable events of the SU.
GT: Which places will you visit, and which one is a hidden gem that tourists often miss?
Margarita: We will visit the capital, Prague—an experience in itself! It’s a beautiful city that has it all: nice parks where we can deliver workshops and prepare a BBQ, picturesque squares, perfect photo spots for AEGEE group pictures, and a vibrant nightlife. During our stay, we’ll take two day trips: one to the Pilsner Brewery and another to Kutná Hora. The true hidden gem is Trosky Castle—even some of our organizers haven’t been there yet!

GT: Tell us about the workshops.
Margarita: We’ve designed workshops that fit our theme perfectly:
- Czech Cultural Windows: Discover famous customs, sayings, cuisine, and traditions.
- Team Building and Creativity: Participants will use creative techniques to form their teams for the duration of the game.
- Strategy and Time Management: Principles that are useful for the game and for everyday life.
- Self-Defense and First Aid: How to protect yourself and help others in need.
- What is AEGEE: Basics for newbies and a refresher on the “Golden Rules” for experienced members.
- Yoga: Stretching and relaxing in nature after hiking and the “final battle.”
GT: How do you pack so much value into such a small fee?
Margarita: It’s a challenge! While prices in the Czech Republic are generally reasonable, the SU happens during peak tourist season. To keep costs down, we’ve applied for university grants and discounts on accommodation.
GT: SUs offer local insights holidays can’t match. What special tradition will you share?
Margarita: We’ll take participants to spots they’ve never seen, even if they’ve visited Czech Republic before. Plus, we’ve designed unique city tours and games that you simply won’t find anywhere else.
GT: What is the single most epic activity of the SU?
Margarita: The massive final battle at the castle. But pssst—that’s a secret for now!
GT: Imagine it’s the third day. Where am I, what am I eating, and what does it smell like? Margarita: You wake up in Prague, realise you’re nearly late for the train to Pilsen, and run! Once you’re settled in a nice coach with the others, you arrive in Pilsen ready to eat. You grab a chlebíček, a traditional sandwich, as a quick snack. Then, you head to the Pilsner Urquell brewery tour, where the smell of brewing beer fills the air. After a following city tour, where you will see all the nice places Pilsen can offer, we head back to Prague for a dinner we provide.

GT: AEGEE is famous for its Spirit. How would you describe it?
Margarita: We’re a group of friends organising events and other activities for other friends. It’s about spending time with fun people while traveling, chilling, doing sports, and bonding over board games – and a lot more! That’s how we enjoy our time in AEGEE-Praha!
GT: Is there a song or drink that defines the trip’s vibe?
Margarita: How could we leave out “Tunak Tunak Tun,” the ultimate AEGEE anthem? It will definitely be the highlight of European Night and many other moments!
GT: Who is your ideal participant?
Margarita: Brave adventurers and curious minds ready to explore medieval Bohemia! In our “Czechdom Come” quest, you’ll travel from the royal city of Prague to the silver town of Kutná Hora and the mysterious towers of Trosky — uncovering clues and solving challenges along the way. The ideal participant is someone who isn’t afraid to step into the unknown with people they’ve just met.
GT: What makes your local famous in the network?
Margarita: In the Czech Republic, we have two active locals: AEGEE-Praha and AEGEE-Brno. We love to cooperate! Each antenna has something special which the other cannot provide. For AEGEE-Praha, our fame comes from our location in the heart of Europe—Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square, and the beautiful Letná Park.
GT: If you could send a 10-second voice note to someone hesitating to apply, what would you say?
Margarita: “Look, if you want to miss out on this fantastic programme, it’s up to you, but it would be such a shame to miss the brewery, European Night, city tours, Czech cultural windows, Trosky, and the real-life locations that inspired ‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance’. If I were you, I’d hit apply right now!“
Check out the course description at the official SU application page. The application period ends on 30 April 2026.
