SU Udine 2024: Sports, Fun and Nature in Northern Italy
The Summer University “From the Alps to Venice – Vol. II” by AEGEE-Udine has two sides. On one hand you will enjoy nature and discover your inner self, on the other hand you will be super active from kayaking to fencing – and partying of course. The dates: 31 July to 9 August.
GT: What is the main topic of your SU this year?
SU Udine Team: Most activities of our SU will take place in nature. Mountains, lakes and the seaside will be the background of adventurous activities such as canoeing, kayaking, historical fencing, swimming, biking and yoga. Our aim is to create a body-soul balanced event: try out new experiences while enjoying nature and discovering your inner self.
GT: Why did you choose the topic?
SU Team: Given the variety of activities and the fact that Udine was declared as the best city of Italy for health and living standards in the 2023, we want to surf the wave and show why our population is the healthiest in the country!
GT: What will be the thematic highlights?
SU Team: Participating to our SU will entail hiking in the mountains, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea and visiting some of our beautiful cities. In addition, we have in store for you interesting workshops ranging from cooking to Italian gestures and Language.
GT: Which cities and landmarks will you visit?
SU Team: You’ll get to see some of our beautiful cities such as Udine, Treviso and of course the world-renowned Venice! Let’s not forget about our majestic Alps and our sunny beaches!
GT: What else will you do for fun?
SU Team: Plenty of activities: we’ll go to an adventure park in our scenic mountains and swimming in the sea, do various sports challenges and, of course, lots of partying after the sun goes down!
GT: How much is the fee?
SU Team: The fee is 199 Euros and it includes: 4 nights accommodation in a gym, 4 nights in a hostel and 1 night in a mountain hut, 2 meals per day, transportation during the event and the following activities: historical fencing, wine tasting, city tours, workshops.
GT: How much is the optional fee and what is included in it?
SU Team: The optional fee is 50 Euros and includes the entrance to the adventure park, the kayaking in the Predil Lake and another activity yet to be decided.
GT: Who is the ideal participant?
SU Team: The ideal participant for our SU is an active, enthusiastic, open-minded traveler who likes to explore, experience and discover new cultures and places. Our participants must be ready to run, shout, jump and to fight. And of course, ready to enjoy food like tiramisù and frico, sports, history, nature and parties!
GT: What makes AEGEE-Udine special?
SU Team: Our local has a great amount of resources at its disposal and we make the best of it! For example, talking about our geographical position: we have both some of the most beautiful beaches and mountains at our disposal being only one hour away by car from our city! That gives us plenty of opportunities to make great trips in some of the most beautiful and diverse places in world!
GT: Where can people find out more?
SU Team: You can go to our Instagram page www.instagram.com/aegee_udine and to the official SU page.
