SU Brescia 2024: “The most memorable moments happened in the mountains”
AEGEE-Brescia continued its success formula of outdoor SUs and extreme sports with their SU brand “Brixtreme”. The 2024 edition had the title “Brixtreme vol. 4 – Into the Wild” and took place from 24 July to 3 August.
Golden Times: What was your Summer University about?
AEGEE-Brescia: Our SU was about exploring Brescia and its surroundings.
GT: How many participants and how many organisers did you have?
AEGEE-Brescia: We had 20 participants and 10 organizers and helpers.
GT: What were the greatest thematic programme highlights of the SU?
AEGEE-Brescia: The main highlight of our SU was a 360 degree discovery of our territory. We mainly focused on outdoor activities, such as walks surrounded by nature, lake trips, including lots of lake swims, hiking in the mountains and a rope park adventure, but we also shared the beauties and traditions of our city.
GT: What were the funniest or most exciting moments?
AEGEE-Brescia: There were many funny moments during the SU. One day we went to the water park and there was this big slide where we could chain one to another and go down all together, we had a lot of fun there. The most memorable moments happened in the mountains for sure, where we had many funny and very long gossip box readings, parties and bonfires under the stars.
GT: How was the group of participants?
AEGEE-Brescia: The group of participants was great, they were all very nice people.
GT: Are you still in touch with each other?
AEGEE-Brescia: Yes, sometimes we text each other and send pictures.
GT: How successful was the SU overall?
AEGEE-Brescia: The SU was very successful, everyone enjoyed it and we’re still very happy about that.
GT: Anything you would like to add?
AEGEE-Brescia: During this SU we decided to have a short break from all the (Bri)xtreme adventures and so one day we went to visit the city of Verona. Despite the heat everyone appreciated the city tour, the good food and the beauties of the city. But anyway, as already mentioned, the days in the mountains always add something more to the atmosphere and magic happens…
