SU Catania 2024: Celebrating Sicilian Heritage and European Diversity
AEGEE-Catania was voted “best Summer University organizer” for several times in a row. This summer, their course has the title “Taste of Sicily – 2024 edition” and takes place from 5th to 17th of August. There are 30 places. The main organisers Giuseppe Lo Faro and Filippo Sardella answered the questions on behalf of AEGEE-Catania.
GT: What is the main topic of your SU this year?
AEGEE-Catania: Our SU is centered on cultural exploration, integration workshops, and celebrating Sicilian heritage and European diversity.
GT: Why did you choose the topic?
AEGEE-Catania: We chose this theme to offer an immersive experience into Sicilian culture, promoting inclusivity and democratic participation among European youth.
GT: What will be the thematic highlights?
AEGEE-Catania: Highlights include workshops on Sicilian culture, discussions on European integration, and interactive sessions aimed at fostering collaboration across borders.
GT: Which cities and landmarks will you visit?
AEGEE-Catania: We’ll explore Catania, visit Mount Etna, Taormina and Siracusa, and enjoy local landmarks.
GT: What else will you do for fun?
AEGEE-Catania: Our event features beach games, pool parties, karaoke nights and cultural festivities.
GT: How much is the fee and what is included in it?
AEGEE-Catania: 288 Euros, covering accommodation, meals, transportation for events and activity entries.
GT: How much is the optional fee and what is included in it?
AEGEE-Catania: 50 Euros – for trips to Taormina and Mount Etna, enhancing the cultural experience.
