GT: What is the main topic of your SU this year?
AEGEE-Aachen: Our SU in Aachen will focus on German culture, with a special emphasis on the German language. Through daily German courses, we provide participants from all over Europe with the opportunity to share a passion for the language.
GT: Why did you choose a language course as topic?
AEGEE-Aachen: Language courses have been a vital component of our past SUs in Aachen. They actually were a cornerstone of the very first SUs. Therefore, we are thrilled to delve into the treasures of the German language with fellow AEGEEans.
GT: How will you teach German?
AEGEE-Aachen: Our German courses will emphasize the practical application of the language in everyday situations. We will strive to make the course as interactive as possible, encouraging our participants to speak as much German as they can during the 12 days of our SU. Our goal is to integrate the use of the German language into all the activities of our SU.
GT: Which cities and landmarks will you visit?
AEGEE-Aachen: We will be visiting the German cities of Cologne and Bonn. Being situated near the borders of two other countries, we will also journey to the “Three-Countries-Point,” where the borders of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands converge.
GT: What else will you do for fun?
AEGEE-Aachen: The evenings will be filled with various parties, along with public screenings for the European football championship. A visit to the zoo and a swim in at the renowned thermal baths of Aachen are also included in the programme.
GT: Which role will polar bears have at your SU?
AEGEE-Aachen: Every visitor to our delightful locale will eventually meet our charming mascot, Bärnd the polar bear. Some lucky participants might even have the chance to put on one of the few polar bear costumes we have!
