SU Brescia 2022: “We used sports to get to know our region”

Next stop on our tour of the AEGEE Summer Universities of 2022 is the beautiful Italian town Brescia. “BRIXTREME – resurrection” was the title of the SU by AEGEE-Brescia, which took place from 26 July 26 to 5 August.

Golden Times: What was your Summer University about?
Camilla Maggi, AEGEE-Brescia: The main theme of our Summer University was sports as a way to show our region.

GT: How many participants and how many organisers and helpers did you have?
Camilla: There was 25 participants and 15 organisers.

GT: What were the greatest programme highlights of the SU?
Camilla: We went on three climbing routes of the type via ferrata, went indoor climbing, sailing, swiming in the lake, hiking, had a wine tasting, made a speleological visit of Brescia’s castle, had altogether ten different astonishing evenings and a European Night!

GT: How did you manage to integrate the group of participants?
Camilla: We had some team building activities in the first days.

GT: How did you deal with Covid?
Camilla: It wasn’t hard because in Italy it was a non-restriction period.

GT: How successful was the SU overall?
Camilla: It was amazing!
