“We danced Macarena on the street in the night”
It’s no secret that Polish and Hungarian people are connected by a deep bond. So, what could be better than AEGEE-Warszawa and AEGEE-Budapest organising a Travelling Summer University together? The event “All different, all equal” took place from 12 to 24 July 2019.
Golden Times: What was your Summer University about?
TSU Team: The main motto of our SU was “All different – all equal”. We wanted to bring a new quality to our and our participants’ daily lives and to try to make our surroundings a better place.
GT: How many participants did you have?
TSU Team: We had 22 participants from 10 different countries.
GT: What were the greatest thematic programme highlights of the SU?
TSU Team: Equality, diversity, friendship.
GT: What were the funniest or most exciting moments?
TSU Team: I think that one of the most exciting moments could have been the wakeboarding lessons and also the hitchhiking trip.
GT: How was the group of participants? How did you manage to integrate them?
TSU Team: Our participants acted like they know one another for ages! Especially when we came across some fountains there were no barriers to make each other wet or to dance Macarena on the street in the middle of the night! Everyone was an amazing and wonderful person, open for others, really friendly and lovely, I guess we all had a great time! And we made long-lasting friendships. Our WhatsApp group is constantly active and there have already been a few reunions!
GT: How was the romance factor of the SU? Where there many couples?
TSU Team: Not many, but a few lovely ones.
GT: How successful was the SU overall?
TSU Team: Our SU was really, really great! Everything is about people and it was undoubtedly the strongest side of our SU: all participants and organizers were like one big family and I hope it left warm and lovely memories to all of us.
GT: Anything you would like to add?
TSU Team: We hope to make a reunion at the nearest Agora! And we hope we gave lots of positive vibes and true AEGEE energy to all of our lovely participants!
