AEGEE-Napoli SU 2023: “We bring out the creativity of our participants”
Naples has it all: the landscape, the food, the culture, the history. It’s the perfect setting for a Summer University that features several workshops about painting, theater, folklore and more. The event has the title “O’ my Sun” and takes place from 29 July to 7 August 2023.
GT: What is the main topic of your SU this year?
AEGEE-Napoli: Our theme this year is the typical Neapolitan spirit and thus, we want participants to experience the sun of Naples at 360 degrees: from the amazing landscape of the gulf of Naples, our historical and cultural heritage, to the warmth of Neapolitan heart. Summer has never been as vibrant and lively as it is in our beautiful city, thus make sure not to miss it!
GT: Why did you choose the topic?
AEGEE-Napoli: The city has been listed in the “World’s greatest places 2023” by Times and for a good reason: our history is everywhere in the city, and you just have to walk into the streets to realize it. Its immense cultural heritage has fascinated many famous personalities and we therefore chose this topic to give the chance to foreigners to immerse completely in our city at a low price, and guided by experienced locals.
GT: What will be the thematic programme highlights?
AEGEE-Napoli: Creativity and expression of one’s self are embedded in Napoli’s life, thus this event is aimed at bringing out the creativity of participants through stimulating workshops, such as painting and a theater workshop inspired and set into beautiful Neapolitan scenarios. We hope that our folklore, which includes food, art, dances, music and hand gestures, will let participants to know more of their own’s self.
GT: Which cities and landmarks will you visit?
AEGEE-Napoli: Our sightseeing highlights are all in Napoli: we will visit the Roman old city of Pompeii, the colorful Procida Island, Italian capital of culture in 2022 and of course, visit the historical city center.
GT: What will you do for fun?
AEGEE-Napoli: Everything will be fun! Expect a great social programme in the city and on the seaside, with plenty of parties and “aperitivi”, fun workshops and the joy of life that characterizes Napoli’s city spirit.
GT: How much is the fee and what is included in it?
AEGEE-Napoli: The fee is 140 Euro. It includes the accommodation, two meals per day, transportation during the event and tickets to visit museums and sightseeing highlights.
GT: How much is the optional fee and what is included in it?
AEGEE-Napoli: The option fee is it 50 Euro. It will cover the Procida Island visit and thermal baths. Experiences that we highly recommend.
GT: Who is the ideal participant?
AEGEE-Napoli: Our ideal participant is a creative dynamite and is ready to express himself or herself with all the colours of the rainbow in all art forms. He or she is full of positive energies and with a curious and open-minded mindset. We also seek a sensitive person, who is gentle and respectful to the other.
